Why Stay at the Hotel Laureate Key West

I really cannot say enough about the way the Laureate Hotel was designed. The multi-room suites are beautifully decorated and are perfectly set up to be either a great home base for exploring Key West or a condo alternative with all the service and luxuries of a resort hotel. I’ve mentioned it when talking about other Key West hotels, but the location of the Laureate Hotel is actually a bonus for me also.

Located on Roosevelt Blvd just before you get to the Garrison Bight Marina, it’s easy in and out whenever you want to go anywhere. It’s convenient to get to a grocery store, to walk along the waterfront, to get to a few different tour and charter companies, and you get a wonderful view of the water. You can’t complain. If your goal is to stay somewhere that you can walk to the restaurants in the main town area of Key West, the Laureate Hotel isn’t the pick for that, but for everything else, it’s awesome.

Note: the Hotel Laureate is a part of the Opal Collection. One of our favorite hotels in Maine, the Samoset Resort in Rockport is also a part of this hotel group. Beautiful properties!

Room Options at the Laureate

The rooms at the Laureate Key West include a One Bedroom King (sleeps 4), One Bedroom Two Queen (sleeps 6), One Bedroom Deluxe King with full dining room (sleeps 4), and then the three bedroom loft suite (sleeps 10). They all are equipped with kitchens and at minimum a breakfast bar. Every room type has a sofa bed in addition to its declared bed type. They also all have at minimum a good sized balcony, with some having a deck also, and ALL rooms have a view of the ocean.

The Family Loft Suite is incredible. Give me outdoor space attached to my hotel room and I’m golden. Make it extra spacious with separate room for kids and another traveling party (like an auntie or grandparents) and we’re super thrilled. The Three Bedroom Loft suite at the Laureate are marvelous. The layout was ideal for us to be able to function separately, having our own schedules, including enough distance between us all that kids could go to bed and adults could stay up late enjoying ourselves.

Key West Laureate Hotel Amenities

Besides being an all-suites hotel, the Laureate also offers several services for guests, including a grocery service. Since the hotel suites have small kitchens (full, but small) you can actually order groceries in advance and the Laureate Hotel staff will do the shopping for you and they’ll stock your fridge and cabinets prior to your arrival (as long as the timing is right). For guests who’ve made the drive all the way down the Overseas Highway on their arrival day this is a wonderfully welcome service, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Believe me, we know.

The pool and public space amenities are also great. You can easily spend time just relaxing in the pool and playing cornhole. There are plenty of lounge chairs and even a barbeque lean-to for grilling during your stay at the Hotel Laureate. It’s great.
