Where to Grab a Drink in Islamorada
Watering hole?! What are we, elephants? No, but we’re thirsty Florida Keys travelers who do love a tasty bevy. These are some great spots for drinks but not always full meals. We have spent lots of time in the Village of Islamorada (multiple keys) hanging out and trying the different bars and breweries so that we can provide the best recommendations. I hope this is helpful!
Islamorada Brewery & Distillery
Islamorada Brewery & Distillery is a craft beer and cocktail destination in the Florida Keys. Their spirits are distilled on-site, and their beer is brewed with as local ingredients as is possible in the Keys. Islamorada Brewery is known for its tropical atmosphere and laid-back vibe, and the brewery & distillery reflect that with their fun and flavorful drinks. Try one of their signature cocktails or beers, or sample a flight of both to get a taste of everything!
The distilling side is a unique company that produces small-batch, handcrafted spirits. Their bottle products are inspired by the island lifestyle and the laid-back attitude of the people who live there. The company’s bestsellers include rum and vodka, both made from locally sourced ingredients, and my favorite, the hibiscus gin. Islamorada Distilling also offers a variety of other spirits, including regular gin, whiskey, and tequila.
I really like their cocktails on draft. I think it’s a cool, unique offering that we’re starting to see more and more of. You can stay inside or take them out back to the backyard hangout space. There is another bar back there and even a food truck if you need it. This is a family-friendly spot and they have yard games to occupy the under-age visitors.

Islamorada Wine Co.
Islamorada Wine Co. is a cozy wine bar in Islamorada and it’s easy to miss, but it’s really mellow and fun. They offer light bites like charcuterie boards, salads, and small plates. The wine bar is unique because there are very few places like it anywhere in the Florida Keys. Wine bars just haven’t been a big fixture here, but Islamorada Wine Co provides a relaxed atmosphere and a wide variety of wines, definitely catering to the crowd that needs a break from the tiki/Jimmy Buffet side of the Keys. Islamorada Wine Co. is a great place to relax with friends and enjoy a glass of wine, getting out of the heat to unwind indoors.

Marker 88 – my favorite!
I love Marker 88 for a few reasons, none of the least is its view. Marker 88 is a seafood restaurant and tiki bar located on Plantation Key, a part of Islamorada. The restaurant serves fresh seafood dishes, hand-crafted cocktails, local brews, and their famous homemade key lime pie. Marker 88 is known for its unique atmosphere (upscale but also open air) and its menu that is always using fresh, local ingredients. The restaurant’s menu features several seafood favorites, including grilled fish, lobster tails, and shrimp scampi. In addition to its seafood offerings, Marker 88 has a variety of hand-crafted cocktails and local brews.
The restaurant’s signature cocktail is the Marker 88 Margarita, made with fresh lime juice, tequila, and Triple Sec. The Marker 88’s Tiki Bar is open daily from 11 am to 11 pm and they’re pretty chill about people hanging out for a long time as long as you’re ordering. We usually have a beverage or snack, walk out on the docks to look at wildlife, and then return to our seats. It’s wonderful.

Lorelei Restaurant & Cabana Bar
You may have stopped here at Lorelei before and not even realized it, as this is the site of one of the most recognizable Florida Keys roadside attractions: the giant mermaid. Lorelei Restaurant & Cabana Bar is a spacious bay-view roadhouse located in the town’s heart (or at least the middle of the Islamorada area). It’s a staple. Lorelei offers seasonal seafood (like spiny lobster when it’s time!), live music, and sunset views. The outdoor bar is great for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. Lorelei is known for their fresh seafood and delicious cocktails. Their unique location makes it the perfect place to watch the sunset or enjoy a romantic dinner.
Bonus: this is actually one of the places on Islamorada that you can also launch a kayak. Lorelei does allow guests to launch their own kayaks and SUPs from their cove if you like. Also, this is very close to the Casa Morada Resort, which is our favorite place to stay on Islamorada, so it’s a nice spot to walk to. Or paddle to.

The Whistle Stop Pub
The Whistle Stop Pub is perfect for relaxing and enjoying good food and drinks, and our kids even like it. They offer a variety of pub grub that is sure to please everyone, as well as a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet usually, and there are plenty of TVs and pool tables to keep you entertained. The Whistle Stop Pub is definitely the place to go if you’re looking for a mellow night out with good food.

The Tiki Bar at the Three Waters Marina
Since 1969 at the The Tiki Bar in the Marina at Three Waters has been doing its thing, with delicious cocktails and a fantastic marina view. Formerly known as part of the Postcard Inn, the Tiki Bar is known for its strong drinks and chill atmosphere, and it’s a popular spot for anyone rolling through town; you don’t have to be staying at the Postcard Inn. The bar has a wide variety of signature cocktails and classic favorites such as Mai Tais and Margaritas, which I feel like is the perfect snapshot of the Florida Keys: a little bit like Mexico and a little bit like Hawaii. In addition to its outstanding cocktails, the Tiki Bar also has a great view of the marina and Caribbean side of Islamorada. This makes it the ideal place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Florida Keys scenery. Whether you’re looking for the perfect spot to enjoy a few drinks with friends or simply want to enjoy the view, the Tiki Bar at the Three Waters Marina is the perfect spot.

Lazy Days Restaurant
We love the Lazy Days Restaurant. It is the perfect low-key destination for seafood & more, with ocean views from the dining room, porch & beach. With an menu that features fresh, local seafood (always, and of course), as well as American classics (good fish and chips), and a solid wine list, there’s something for everyone at Lazy Days. Also, I think they may have more frozen drink options than any other place for drinks in Islamorada. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal or beverage during your Florida Keys trip.

Pierre’s Restaurant or Morada Bay Café
Pierre’s Restaurant is a sophisticated and romantic restaurant located on the beach in Islamorada. They offer gourmet world cuisine with stunning sunset views. Their most famous dishes include lobster risotto, seared scallops, and filet mignon. I’ll be honest, it’s much more fancy than I am and when we’ve come here, I feel a little under-dressed or just not mature enough, even though the food is amazing. Pierre’s is definitely for if you’re looking for a romantic night out or a special celebration, for which it is a perfect choice. But then next door…
Directly next to Pierre’s is the Morada Bay Cafe and I LOVE it here. This is more low key and really a fun spot. You can sit at the indoor or outdoor bar, grab a table on the deck or sit out on the sandy dining area. This is a great spot for sunset and it’s a good option for a meal or cocktails, and it’s VERY kid-friendly. I like the Morada Bay Cafe more than Pierre’s simply because it’s low key like me.

Robbie’s of Islamorada
I have to include Robbie’s because it’s another Islamorada staple for many reasons. Robbie’s of Islamorada is a famous marina known for its fishing cruises, kayak and boat rentals, and tarpon feeding. The marina also has a restaurant that is a favorite of locals and tourists alike (even though it’s not my #1 pick). Robbie’s is known for its fresh seafood, and the menu features items such as lobster tails, conch fritters, and fish tacos. The restaurant also has a wide variety of fresh and frozen cocktails. The views from the marina are awesome for watching boats go by and nurse sharks under the dock, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing day or evening out. Robbie’s is one of the most unique places in Islamorada, and it is definitely worth a visit!
Location: just off the Overseas Highway on Upper Matecumbe Key
