Since the Florida Keys are a more expensive destination for a Florida trip, it can be difficult to find a place to stay that’s good for a family AND fits a budget, but the 24 North Hotel does just that. While it isn’t the fanciest hotel on the block, the 24 North Hotel in Key West is an ideal option for a few nights in Key West. Located on Roosevelt Blvd, so not in the historic downtown area, this hotel is one of the tallest buildings in the Florida Keys and offers a beautiful water view.
Do you ever consider staying in this part of Key West when you come down? It’s actually pretty great because there are some wonderful restaurants, it’s a quick in and out to the city, and running along the water is just delightful. The 24 North Hotel may become your new go-to for last minute or budget trips, so give it a look and see if it fits for your Key West vacay. Why Stay at the 24 North Hotel in Key West
What I really liked about staying at the 24 North Hotel in Key West was the flexibility of our trip style because of how the hotel is designed. I feel guilt when I travel if I don’t take advantage of the beautiful pools or the different amenities offered .Or if we are super busy with activities and we only are in our hotel room to go to sleep, when it’s time to leave I feel like we wasted a nice hotel because we didn’t spend enough time there.
The 24 North Hotel was great for our family because it is nice enough that we enjoy being there and there are great amenities that we could easily take advantage of, but it wasn’t so fancy that the hotel itself felt like the destination. When we stayed at the Market Resort Key West it felt like we HAD to be there as much as possible because it was such a luxurious place. It’s just nice to be able to have a hotel that is welcoming and comfortable but that isn’t the focal point of your vacation
Room Options at the 24 North Key West
The 24 North Hotel has both suites and hotel rooms. Depending on your room needs, you can really save a lot by booking a standard hotel room, but even the suites are a pretty great deal. When it comes to standard hotel rooms, you can choose from either two queens or a king bed, and then either a bay view or a pool view room.
Here’s the thing though, for not too much more ($50-$70 per night) you can get a junior suite or king suite. The junior suites have lots more space than a standard hotel room, and the king suites have a completely separate living space. The juniors and kings also have pull out sleeper sofas, so if you’re planning a stay at the 24 North Hotel, these rooms are the most bang for your bucks with the most space.
When it comes to hotel rates, the 24 North Hotel meets our hopes and dreams for a budget friendly hotel. You can expect to pay anywhere from $160 per night on a deal to $370 for a suite. In consideration of the going rate for hotel rooms in Key West at different times of year, this is a very good price point if you’re planning to stick to a lower budget for your time in Key West.
24 North and Gates Hotel Amenities
The 24 North Hotel has a very large pool with lots of seating all around There is shade and plenty of sunny spots. There are also yard games for when you need a break from the pool, and then a large play yard type area that’s shared with the neighboring Gates Hotel. It’s ideal for a low key pool day or afternoon to relax after a busy morning in Key West. There is also a fitness center on site near the pool with free weights, yoga mats, medicine balls and cardio equipment. It is a keyed entry space.
I think the best amenity the 24 North Hotel offers is the shuttle into downtown Key West. Since the hotel is located on Roosevelt Blvd at the east end of the island, the free shuttle to the Historic Seaport area is great to keep you from needing to drive your own car and find parking in this busy little city. The shuttle runs all day long with the last one being at 10:30 pm. This is such a bonus because it takes the stress out of getting yourself around and paying for parking each time you go someplace new.

There are so many good restaurants in Key West that you’ll likely be heading downtown for most meals, but if you are sticking around the 24 North Hotel all day, there is Starbucks located in the hotel that serves standard Starbucks food and there is the pool bar, aka the Toasted Coconut. The pool bar serves lunch and dinner, as well as snacks and drinks. Between the 24 North and the Gates Hotel next door, there is usually a food truck or two to add to the dining options. For cocktails and lounging inside, the Republica Bar & Lounge is just off the lobby and it’s a great, cool hangout.
24 North Key West Parking Information
Parking at the 24 North Hotel Key West is not included in your resort fee. It is $15/night (confirm at check in). You do need to put a parking pass in your front window (get it at the front desk). When you check in and get your room assignment, get instructions for where to park to be closest to your room, as the property is actually quite large with parking all around it.
